In the New Year, looking forward (2)

In the New Year, looking forward… we all wish to have a better year than last year.

“My help comes from the Lord, the God of creation…” - Psalm 121

This week is Lunar New Year – Year of the Rat… I pray that in the New Year and New Decade, we all will:

-have a deep knowledge of God

-experience the riches and glory of the Lord Jesus Christ

-have a full abundant life in the Lord Jesus Christ

Surely, the New Year brings new excitements, new plans and New Year’s resolutions. They may however be quickly forgotten or abandoned, when we go back to work and encounter problems. Some problems – health, financial, relationships – may be very difficult and beyond our ability to resolve. We will need help in the New Year and the New Decade.

Facing difficult life issues, people may find comfort in destructive behaviors, in alcohols, in drugs, … Where will our help come from? In Psalm 121, king David said, “My help comes from the Lord, the God of creation”. Please look up and rely on God for help. He is the Creator of all things – all powerful, all knowing and is in control of all things. He will help us in times of need, in desperate times so that we will honor Him and trust Him more. Last week, the Holy Spirit reminded us to trust God for all of our needs. This week, the Holy Spirit reminds us that God will help us in all circumstances!

Prayer this week:

Father, I believe in you and your words. Please help me and my family in the New Year 2020 and New Decade 2020-2030. Help me to obey your words. Renew my spirit each new day so that I will be joyful, peaceful and hopeful. Help me to honor you with my life. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
