One ness with God - So what?

After several weeks of deep diving in the intimate One-ness relationship with God, we should clearly emphasize the 2 key take-aways.

1. The Holy Spirit dwells in us. We become godly... With the indwelling Holy Spirit, God’s riches and great power are ours, i.e. God empowers us to carry out His work. Being godly, we will be able to help people and love people with God’s unconditional love. We will be able to do great things, above and beyond our abilities, because God does them through us. In Matt 16:19, Jesus said: I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven; whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.

2. We live in God. God become human... God’s desires become our desires and vice versa, our desires become God’s desires. Of course, with the indwelling Holy Spirit, we only desire the things of God – to love ourselves and other people. And God will bless our desires according to His perfect ways and timing. We will be able to achieve our wishes & dreams, above and beyond our knowledge, because God bless them. In Matt 16:19, Jesus said: I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven; whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.

The fact is God creates us with a life meaning & purpose and we all have wishes and dreams. God will bless our wishes and dreams to come true and will enlarge our territoty for His glory. Jesus said He come to give us life, a full & abundant life (John 10:10).

For example, my wishes and dreams:

- Study in the States. Instead of going to the USA as a regular student, I went in 1975 as a refugee. God allowed my dream to come true in the most unexpected way.

- Work overseas. After I was not allowed to apply for an expat job in Vietnam in 1995, I was selected to go to Singapore in 1996. Instead of working 4 years (typical expat assignment) in Hanoi, Vietnam, I worked in Singapore for 7 years. God blessed my wish & dream above and beyond my expectations, after the first opportunity did not work out.

- Create a business. While working for Chevron, I wanted to create a business of my own. God delayed my want because the timing was not right. God guided me to start Goodworks in 2017 after I retired, 30 years later. The goal of Goodworks is aligned with God’s will.

Quote from anonymous source: “If we fear and obey God, the dreams will come”. I pray that we all will realize God’s will for our life and that our dreams will come to us.

If you have thoughts from this weekly devotional, I would like to hear from you. And if you have examples to share what God has done in your life, I would like to hear them. Thank you.
